General Info

Stepping into Yayoiken Hankyu Ibaraki at 9-21 Futabacho, Ibaraki, Osaka, feels like being welcomed into a warm, bustling neighborhood syokudo. The first thing that hits you is the inviting aroma of freshly cooked teishoku meals, each promising a hearty and satisfying experience. Whether you’re dropping by for a quick breakfast or a leisurely lunch, the cozy interior and the friendly staff instantly set a relaxed mood.

One of the highlights on the menu is the 豚しょうが焼き定食, a succulent pork ginger set meal that strikes the perfect balance of savory and slightly sweet flavors. It’s easy to see why locals rave about this dish-it’s comfort food done right, served with steaming rice and crisp vegetables that complement the rich pork perfectly. For those craving something with a lighter, yet equally satisfying profile, the チキン南蛮定食 is a must-try. The chicken is tender, coated with a delicate tangy sauce, and paired with creamy tartar that elevates every bite.

The variety doesn’t stop there. Fans of fried delights will enjoy the ミックスカツとじ, which combines different cuts of meat in a golden, lightly battered coat, simmered in a flavorful sauce that keeps each piece juicy. The 味噌カツ煮定食 is another standout, especially if you love the bold depth of miso; the rich sauce hugs the pork cutlet perfectly, creating a taste that lingers pleasantly. And for those who appreciate a simpler, traditional option, the サバの塩焼定食 delivers perfectly grilled mackerel seasoned just right, showcasing a classic Japanese flavor profile that’s both fresh and satisfying.

Yayoiken Hankyu Ibaraki makes the dining experience even more convenient with its variety of services. Early risers can enjoy breakfast selections, and beer enthusiasts can pair their meals with a refreshing cold brew. The restaurant is fully equipped with a clean restroom, accepts reservations, and supports modern payment options like au PAY, making the experience seamless for both locals and visitors.

Throughout my visit, what struck me most was how this restaurant manages to combine the familiarity of a neighborhood eatery with the quality of a well-curated menu. Each set meal feels thoughtfully prepared, portions are generous, and the presentation is simple yet appealing. Whether you’re reading online reviews or discovering it in person, Yayoiken Hankyu Ibaraki leaves a memorable impression, and its location makes it easily accessible for anyone exploring the Ibaraki area.

What customers say?

“ It's been a while since I last visited Yayoiken!! I went around 9 PM on a weekday, and there were quite a few customers, which really showed how popular it is. Even though the prices have increased compared to before, it's still great value for money, and the cozy atmosphere that's unique to chain restaurants is just amazing! ⭐︎ If you order a set meal, you get unlimited rice refills with that indescribable machine. I also love the all-you-can-eat pickles, which are just the right amount! ⭐︎ This time, I ordered the mixed set meal, which had a variety of side dishes. It included beef, fried shrimp, and pork cutlet, so it was amazing value for just under 1,000 yen!! The menu is extensive, and I really love Yayoiken! ⭐︎ ”

“ This restaurant is located in front of Ibaraki-shi Station. The system allows you to simply order and purchase from the ticket machine, so you don't have to worry about having to call out to the staff. (●'ϖ`●) ”

“ Good food, good selection! Slightly on the pricier end. ”

- George Bennion -

“ It's right in front of the station, so access is great. If you want a set meal, this is the place to go! There are two ordering machines, so ordering was smooth! ”

“ It is the first time since 1999 for me to come Yayoi Ken in Japan. Last time was in Tokyo then place different time has changed due to COVID then it looks all changed. Order panel becomes small and heard to find the one. Refilling rise is done by machine not by hands, table is much smaller and tiny. Dish looks poor. Tee cup is plastic now. Also price difference in 5 years are big as same as other restaurant. However taste of Sabamiso is the same as before. Over all OK. ”

“ When I have to go out early in the morning, this store is open from 5am, which is very convenient. I had the miso pork cutlet stew set meal, but it was a little too strong for my taste. It seemed like the owner was running the place alone, but he was very attentive and prepared the food, which made me feel good from the morning. Thank you for the meal. ”

“ This chain restaurant is located right after getting off at Hankyu Ibarakishi Station. It's perfect for a quick meal for one person. The food was neither better nor worse than expected. The tableware was a little worn. In this day and age, it's nice to have free extra rice bowls and free refills of rice with set meals. ”

“ I ordered the croquette set meal with tamagoyaki (rolled omelet). The tamagoyaki was delicious, just the way I like it! The tamagoyaki had a slightly sweet taste. I was also grateful that they offer free refills. The store is small, so it might feel cramped if it's crowded. ”
